Our Anniversary

Six years ago today, I married my best friend.  It was an amazing day full of family and friends and great memories.  I am so blessed to have so many amazing memories to share with my husband.  Kevin and I actually met in high school and spent a lot of time together among our group of friends.  I think that our relationship started out the way many successful relationships do--we were friends first.  Over the years, we realized that we may want to explore taking our friendship to the next level.  We have officially been a couple for 11 years now.  It took him long enough to pop the question, huh? :)  We have been through trials and triumphs together and on this day I want to put into words just some of the reasons I love my husband:
1.  He has sat through all of the Twilight movies and various other chick flicks with me over the years without complaint.
2.  He honestly loves my cooking.
3.  He loves spending time with my family.  I love having a man who will gladly spent a Saturday night just eating dinner and hanging out at my parent's house.
4.  He has great legs and beautiful eyes.
5.  We share many of the same interests--food, music, TV shows, etc.
6.  We have recently started going to church together regularly as a family and I love how excited he is about our new church home.  He didn't grow up in church like I did and I love showing him how great church can be.
7.  He is passionate about volunteer work like I am--the two of us may not be able to save the world but that doesn't mean we can't try!
8.  We share so many of the same memories from so many years back.  It's great to be able to say "Hey remember back in high school when..."
9.  He says of our wedding day six years ago, "I saw you standing there in front of me and couldn't believe you were mine."
10.  He has seen me at my very worst over the years--sick, sad, teary, with too many extra pregnancy pounds, but has never made me feel anything less than beautiful.
11.  His personality is the perfect balance for mine.  I can be anxious and high-strung and his laid back attitude helps calm me down.
12. We have had a difficult few weeks with my health and it will be an ongoing battle.  During this time he has been so incredibly strong and supportive.  I know that he won't let me down or let me give up.  When we found out that I didn't have leukemia, he cried and my husband is not a crier.
13.  He says he wants to give me the world and I believe him.
14.  Most importantly, he is the most amazing dad in the world.  My child is such a daddy's girl.  Kevin takes her with him to run errands, up to the golf course to teach her how to putt and drive the golf cart, and to friends' houses to watch football games because he loves spending time with her.  He has always been an equal partner with me in raising our child whether it has been with discipline, bath time or changing diapers, and middle of the night feedings back in those early days.  Just one of the reasons I married Kevin was because I knew he would be a great dad and he has blown past all of my expectations.

I thank God every day for blessing me with such an amazing husband and for blessing Ava with such an amazing father.  He truly did guide me to my perfect match.

Happy Anniversary, baby!  I love you so much!
