Ava has been having so much fun with her elf, Ferrell, this year! Each morning, she wakes up and immediately goes searching for him. Then, she comes to wake Kevin and myself up, grabbing us by the hands, and dragging us out of bed so that we can see what kind of mischief he has been up to in the night. Ferrell has pulled some silly stunts this year.
He drew all over a photograph of Ava!! Fortunately, he used a dry erase marker because Ava was very concerned that her picture would look this way forever.
He perched on the rearview mirror in my car one day so that he could ride with us to school.
He climbed in the fridge and turned our milk PINK (Ava's favorite color)!
He took a shower in Ava's bathroom and borrowed her washcloths.
He roasted marshmallows over one of my candles in our kitchen.
He hid all of our stockings and replaced them with underwear!
He brought a toy from the North Pole to add to the toys we were taking to church to donate. He's such a thoughtful elf!
Ferrell also brought this note from Santa for Ava along with some special seeds. The instructions on how to plant them were including in the note.
Ava planted the seeds in sugar and then sprinkled them with just a little salt just like the note instructed her to do.
After two nights, we woke up to a special treat. The seeds had grown into yummy sugar cookies!
Ferrell will be here for just two more nights before he flies back to the North Pole. Who knows what he will get into before he leaves! We will miss him but will look forward to his reappearance after Thanksgiving next year.
